WALBRO ENGINE
MANAGEMENT INTRODUCES REVOLUTIONARY STARTING SYSTEM FOR HAND HELD, FOUR
STROKE TRIMMERS AND BRUSH CUTTERS
Walbro Engine
Management has developed a revolutionary starting system that provides
simple, two-step starting and improved engine performance for hand held,
four stroke string trimmers and brush cutters. The Walbro-TEC
(Walbro-Total Engine Control) system will be introduced in early 2003.
"We are pleased to be providing the Walbro-TEC system as an integral
part of the new Troy-Bilt models TB425CS, TB475SS and TB490BC four
stroke string trimmers to be introduced for the 2003 model year under
the EZ-Start trademark," states Don Ross, Walbro Business Unit Manager.
"Walbro's expertise in both fuel and ignition systems makes it uniquely
positioned to provide this type of product, where the two systems
interact to provide important benefits."
Walbro's engineering team coordinated technology from their fuel systems
and electronic ignition module groups to develop this landmark product.
Digital electronics and a rotary valve carburetor are the heart of the
patented system. A special flywheel and air filter assembly (also
provided by Walbro) complement the MA series ignition module and WYL
carburetor.
To use, the operator simply depresses the air purge bulb and then pulls
the starter cord. The Walbro-TEC system technology does the rest.
Depending on the engine temperature (cold start or hot re-start), the
engine controlling system automatically adjusts the spark timing and
air/fuel mixture control for easy starting and excellent all-around
engine performance.
