MANAGEMENT’S THAILAND FACILITY AWARDED ISO CERTIFICATION
A Walbro Engine
Management subsidiary, Walbro Thailand Co., Ltd, has been awarded ISO
9001:2000 certification for its facility in Chonburi, Thailand. The
facility manufactures carburetors for a number of Walbro customers.
ISO 9000 is an international reference for quality management
requirements in business-to-business dealings. ISO 9001 is primarily
concerned with quality management. It focuses on a company's efforts to
meet its customer's quality requirements and applicable regulatory
requirements, while enhancing customer satisfaction and achieving
continual improvement in meeting these objectives.
“Earning this ISO certification demonstrates Walbro Engine Management's
ongoing commitment to satisfying the needs of its global customer base
with world-class facilities strategically located around the world,”
said Andrew Masterman, President, Walbro Engine Management.
"This achievement was due to the hard work of our teams and the effort
of all employees in the successful implementation of this system,"
Sadanori Shizukuishi, Plant Manager, and Yukio Goto, President, Walbro
Thailand, said in a statement recognizing the achievement. "We are
continuously improving our quality and environmental procedures and we
aim to receive ISO 14001 certification approval later this year," they
added.
Walbro Engine Management, a unit of TI Automotive, is the world's
largest manufacturer of carburetors and a major manufacturer of ignition
systems, fuel injection and air/fuel management components for engines
targeted at outdoor power equipment, marine, recreational and two-wheel
applications. Walbro Engine Management has facilities in the United
States, Mexico, Italy, Japan, Thailand and China.
