WALBRO ENGINE
MANAGEMENT'S LOS MOCHIS, MEXICO, FACILITY WINS SECOND ISO CERTIFICATION
Walbro Engine
Management's carburetor manufacturing plant in Los Mochis, Sinaloa,
Mexico, has been awarded ISO-14001 certification. This is the second ISO
certification that the facility has received within twelve months.
"Our Los Mochis employees deserve congratulations on their effort to
achieve ISO-14001 certification," said Jorge Gastelum, Operations
Manager for Walbro de Mexico's Los Mochis plant. "The team worked
hard with exceptional discipline and dedication to obtain both ISO-9001
and ISO-14001 certifications within a 12 month period. This
accomplishment is especially significant because the Los Mochis facility
is a recent start-up operation and many workers are new to the systems
approach required by ISO certifications."
ISO-14001 is an international standard that formalizes a facility's
environmental procedures. The certification confirms that the facility
has implemented an effective environmental management system that meets
all local, state and federal environmental standards.
"Earning an ISO 14001 certification at the Los Mochis facility
demonstrates that Walbro Engine Management is maintaining an aggressive
approach regarding environmental issues," according to Andrew Masterman,
President, Walbro Engine Management. "This certification is evidence of
our dedication to protecting the environment, our employees and the
communities in which we operate."
