WALBRO ENGINE MANAGEMENT’S ENGINEERING FACILITY IN
CASS CITY, MICHIGAN EARNS ISO CERTIFICATION
Walbro Engine
Management's Engineering facility in Cass City, Michigan, has been
awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification. The new certification covers
Walbro's Recreation and Marine Business Unit Engineering Team, and
encompasses all engineering and design functions, from initial concept
through start of production, related to products manufactured at the
Cass City facility.
“This ISO certification is evidence of Walbro Engine Management's
continuing commitment to satisfying the needs of its customers with
world-class facilities that meet the highest standards in all aspects of
their operations,” said Andrew V. Masterman, President, Walbro Engine
Management.
"The Cass City Quality Team has worked closely and diligently alongside
the Engineering Team to accomplish this certification in just two
months," Eddie Mercado, Quality Manager, Walbro Engine Management, said.
"This exceptional performance was enhanced by our strong focus on
leadership and problem solving."
Mercado noted that the Engineering Team formalized its documentation
through the Cass City plant’s existing ISO system that covers
manufacturing operations. "This added certification further ensures
quality by having documented/implemented procedures and instructions for
the planning, development, validation and verification of our designs."
"Our customers are well aware of the benefits of ISO certification,"
Mercado said. "For example, this new certification for the Engineering
and Design function, combined with the previous certification of our
Cass City manufacturing operations, gives the Cass City facility
'Preferred' status for the first time in the Quality segment of Mercury
Marine's ongoing Supplier Review Program."
